“Sworn translation” is certified translation made by an official translator who has taken a general oath at an Italian court.
The sworn document translation is almost always required for diplomas and certificates, as well as for legal acts, contracts, letters of appointment and generally in all cases when official confirmation from the translator that the translated text corresponds to the original is needed.
The oath statement must be drawn up by the person who has done the translation and, therefore, is responsible for it. Usually the oath statement is submitted along with the translated document.
The translator must personally submit a document that will be certified/sworn.
The sworn translation of the text is called so because after the translation of the text, the authorized translator comes to the court to make and register an official oath statement and swear the translation exactly corresponds to the original document attached thereto.
